The concept of Nudge, which combines various cognitive biases from psychology, has found widespread application in marketing and social science fields. It introduces the idea of "choice architecture." As UX designers, providing choices to users is a significant part of our work, and I believe it is highly relevant to what we do.

Understanding Cognitive Biases:
An exemplary case demonstrating the power of Nudge can be seen at the Amsterdam Airport in the Netherlands. By placing a fly illustration inside urinals, the airport effectively reduced restroom cleaning rates through a subtle psychological cue.

Digital Nudge in E-commerce Pages:
To explore the application of Nudge in e-commerce, we initiated a brainstorming session, focusing on the homepage, search page, product page, and the checkout process. We aimed to identify the types of information that could influence users' purchasing decisions. Utilizing information cards allowed us to modularize and easily test different messaging strategies.

User Testing:
We conducted qualitative tests, presenting users with different scenarios and corresponding information cards, and evaluated their usefulness. The results provided valuable insights, enabling us to refine our design approach.

A/B Testing:
Based on the insights gathered from user testing, we conducted A/B tests to compare the effectiveness of different design variations. The results were as follows:

Conclusion:
Through this iterative process, we successfully identified the information cues that nudge users towards making a purchase. We also streamlined our approach to efficiently evaluate and measure the effectiveness of these cues. As a result, we implemented relevant design improvements, such as the following.
By harnessing the principles of Nudge in UX design, we have the opportunity to guide users towards desirable actions while respecting their autonomy. This approach empowers us to create more persuasive and impactful user experiences, ultimately driving higher engagement and achieving business objectives.
